Makoto (Konno Ayaka) is excited about her first date with Ren (Totsuka Shota). However, her happiness is shattered when her abusive mother, Hiroko (Yamada Kinuo), who she thought she had estranged from, reappears. "I'll never let you get away," she says. She is saved by her kind childhood friend, Tora (Nakamura Reia), who has become a detective. Makoto longs for her brief reunion with Tora, but Tora secretly harbors feelings for her. Then, on the night of her date with Ren, her mother, Hiroko, suddenly bursts into the restaurant. Her mother's whispered curses and the ruined date drag Makoto back to a nightmare from the past. However, she tearfully pleads with Ren for help, and Ren promises to support her.
